Child care and education

Kumlinge has despite its small size a kindergarten and a school. The kindergarten is also where the younger school children go after school if they need being taken care of after school hours.

The kindergarten, Annagården, is co-located with the home for the elderly and the children frequently visit the elders. 

The school, Kumlinge skola, covers the compulsory years from first grade to ninth. After ninth grade the students must move to Mariehamn or Åbo to attend higher education.

Both kindergarten and school have experience in dealing with non Swedish speaking children. Should you want to move here the language issue will be eased by the experience the personal have with helping children to master Swedish.
